There is a situation in CSF whereby all referees names are being published on the CUSA and CWSA websites in their referee evaluation form. No referees in our city have been asked for permission to have their names on these websites. More... Assessments and Other Important information for referees. There have been a number of changes on the RDC south (Referee Development Committee, or Referee Standing Committee) this year. For your information, the names and contact numbers for the members of the RDC south can be found on the ASA website. More... Leo Donlevy has been asked to assist in organizing the assessment program in Calgary for what remains of the 2006 season and would like to get it "kick-started" ASAP. To that end, please put your requests for assessments through me with date, time, location and game details. Leo will then request an assessor on your behalf and do my best to get you looked at. Leo cannot make guarantees but will do my best. Leo will also try to ensure we have an assessment program for Provincials for those working games there. So who are the Local (CSF RAC) and Pronvincial Referee Association (ASA RSC) members! NOTICE: Garry Brogan will be leaving his position as one of the referee representatives on the Referee Affairs Committee (CSF RAC) effective June 1st, 2006 and will be replaced by Doug Kipta. ANNUAL CDSRA BBQ! The annual CDSRA BBQ is to be hosted by Cam and Carol Eremko on July 29th, 2006. The address for the Eremko's will come at a later date. When is the next Advanced Referee Training Class(es): The next ART class in July will be watching a referee in action. We, as a group, will attend a game to be refereed by one of our peers with the intention of stimulating discussion about the decisions, and non decisions, that are made by the referee on the field. #5 - Refereeing without Qualified Assistant Referees Introduction There is a FIFA approved system of controlling a game that is known as the Diagonal System of Control. This relies on a Referee on the field and 2 Assistant Referees on the sidelines. This system is based on the use of certified and trained Assistant Referees (formerly Linesmen). A majority of local games are, however, without qualified ARs. The AR you get (if you get one) is usually a parent, friend, player, etc..
